Our home, remixed!

Today’s hot topic is the economy, and while it seems to affect our daily lives, it doesn’t need to stifle your style. That's what my Uncle and master artist in the family, Ernest Panis (everybody's Tito Erns), has shown us through the restoration and transformation of our ancestral home here in the heart of Sta. Ana, Manila.

I recently helped him rearrange! :-) I kept on wishing I've scanned "Before" photos so you could better appreciate the following...

Your furniture, your paintings, your accessories the family treasures and pieces you've collected through the years are a reflection of your personality and can be artfully redesigned to bring fresh life to old rooms.

(This old antique cabinet was restored and is now housing our stereo system and stack of CDs.)

Today’s trends don’t box you in like those of the past, so feel free to mix it up a little. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of introducing new pieces to old ones. Like mixing dark brown with accents of black and white; matching dark, exotic woods with stainless steel elements.

Maybe clearing clutter and rearranging your furniture will give you the change you need. Rearranging is by far the least expensive way to transform and improve the look of an area… more importantly, to maximize the flow of energy throughout your home. It's refreshing!

***FUN FACT***
According to www.livestrong.com, rearranging furniture burns approximately
435 calories per hour for an average, 145-pound person. :-)
